Meet the owners, Nichola and Patrick (and Solo our wonderful Fox Red Lab!). 

Our journey to holiday letting happened by accident. We had been visiting Fowey with our friends and families for over a decade before we decided to buy a home there, and then COVID kicked in. Our friends asked if they could stay between lockdowns and that was the beginning for us.

Fimbarr's Reach was in a bit of a state when we bought it, having been rented for nearly two decades, it was full of damp and held together pretty much with duck tape. We have invested heavily in bringing this lovely old house back to a stunning family home, by restoring the original features and reinstating the character. (Nichola loves a project!)

The photo to the left was taken at Par Beach Cornwall, which is dog friendly all year round and is just a short drive from Fimbarr's Reach in Fowey. Solo loves meeting his doggy friends there for a runaround and a swim in the sea.

We are starting to welcome guests from Spring 2027 to the Old Rectory, our magnificent Grade II listed home, built in 1886 on the site of the ancestral home of US President George Washington, and situated in the beautiful Essex countryside.

What do these two properties have in common? They are both located in the countryside and near water, where you can immerse yourself in nature with beautiful walks from the door. The estuaries are within easy striking distance meaning you can enjoy the best of the Great British countryside and coastlines, on and off the water. 

Both houses are full of character and have been designed as a home from home for our discerning guests. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we do.

The photo to the right was taken at Paper Mill Lock on the River Chelmer in Essex, a 14 mile canal and river route connecting the city of Chelmsford to the sea at the Heybridge Basin. It's a short drive from the Old Rectory.
